Jerry Jones is not losing sleep over Micah Parsons’ trade request.
Last week, Dallas Cowboys superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons requested a trade in a lengthy statement, proclaiming that he no longer wanted to be apart of the Cowboys.
On Friday, Jones commented on the shocking request and said he will not trade the star pass rusher.
“I think the world of Micah,” Jones said after Saturday’s practice. “And that [request] is just a part of negotiation.”
Jones would not say whether he expected Parsons on the field for the Sept. 4 season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I don’t want to talk about my expectations,” Jones said. “Now that is speculating. But I can speak to anything that’s happened up until now and that has no sensitivity to me.”
Parsons made his trade request publicly with a social media post, citing, among other things, “repeated shots” from the organization.
While Parsons made his demand pretty clear, it’s also pretty clear that Jerry Jones is living in his whole fantasy land regarding the mindset of his superstar pass rusher, even going as far as saying that negotiations with Parsons’ are “going well.”
