The Indianapolis Colts are bolstering their secondary.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Colts have agreed to a contract with four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Xavien Howard. The deal is a one-year deal worth $5 million, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero adds.
Howard last played in the NFL in 2023, though he did visit the Cincinnati Bengals last November and work out for the Dallas Cowboys in December.
Howard played his first eight NFL seasons for the Miami Dolphins, leading the league in interceptions twice. He is just one of nine players to amass double-digit picks in a single season this century, snagging 10 in 2020 alongside an NFL-high 20 pass breakups.
Howard, 32, was certainly a fantastic addition for a Miami team that selected him with a second-round pick out of Baylor in 2016.
