There was no way the Dallas Cowboys were going to trade Micah Parsons to an NFC East team but that doesn’t mean Howie Roseman wouldn’t try.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles made a “strong push” to trade for Micah Parsons this summer. Philadelphia called Dallas to try and acquire Parsons, but the Cowboys had zero interest in trading the super star pass rusher to their division rival.
The Cowboys traded Parsons to the Green Bay Packers last week after two months of failed negotiations. Parsons signed a four-year, $188 million contract extension with the Packers after the trade was finalized.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who offered Parsons a lucrative deal in March, said on Aug. 28 that the blockbuster trade would give Dallas “a better chance to be a better team than we have been the last several years.”
The Cowboys acquired defensive tackle Kenny Clark and first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 from the Packers for Parsons, who has 52.5 sacks in his first four seasons.
