The early diagnosis on George Kittle is not good.
The fear according to multiple reports is that the 49ers star tight end suffered a torn achilles injury after he was carted off late in the first half of Sunday’s NFC Wild Card Game at Philadelphia.
Kittle was pushed out of bounds on a 6-yard reception and grabbed the back of his lower right leg. He was ruled out for the rest of the game.
Kittle played an intricate part in both the 49ers’ run and pass game. With injuries across the board of the Niners, they were counting on Kittle to be a big part of their offense.
The 49ers trail the Eagles, 13-10, as we enter the third quarter.
