The Buffalo Bills have a new head coach and it’s someone they are very familiar with.
After firing head coach Sean McDermott following their AFC Divisional Round Playoff loss to the Denver Broncos, the Bills are promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to become its head coach.
The 36-year-old was hired by McDermott in 2022 following twos seasons in Carolina to be the team’s quarterback’s coach. Josh Allen threw for over 4,000 yards and 64 touchdowns while working with Brady for two seasons.
In 2023, Brady took over as the team’s offensive coordinator after Ken Dorsey was dismissed. A season later, he would be promoted to full-time in the position and be voted a finalist for the Assistant Coach of the Year Award.
Brady will face extremely high expectations with the Bills. Under McDermott, the team reached the playoffs in eight of nine seasons. The Bills won at least one playoff game in six of those appearances, making it all the way to the AFC Championship twice, where they were defeated by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs both times.
