It sounds like Derek Carr wants to come out of retirement.
Carr, 34, retired from the NFL last offseason after 11 seasons due to his battle with an injury to his throwing shoulder that held him out for the entire 2025 season. But that hasn’t stopped teams from reaching out and Carr is reportedly entertaining the idea of returning to the field in 2026.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Carr would come out of retirement for the right situation.
If Carr were to come out of retirement, the New Orleans Saints would still own his rights and would likely ask for trade compensation if he does return.
This will be something to monitor during the offseason.
