Steelers Ranked Last In New NFLPA Report Card, Accused Of Having “Only Five Bathroom Stalls” In Locker Room

The latest NFLPA Report Cards are out and the Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the storied franchises in the NFL, ranked 32 out of 32 teams, according to a report by ESPN.

Steelers team president Art Rooney II was criticized for not investing in facilities. Pittsburgh’s locker room, the one they have at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex was graded as an F by players for being too small and lacking modernity.

In the specifics of complaints, one of the notes is the Steelers’ locker room has just five bathroom stalls for the entire team.

The Steelers’ Acrisure Stadium field grass was called out during the season. During the Steelers-Browns game, the field was notably being kicked up, and kicker Chris Boswell fell during a field goal attempt.

Steelers team captain and NFLPA rep Cam Heyward said that Miles Killebrew’s knee injury was caused by the surface.

“Honestly, it was (expletive),” Heyward said. “I lost one of my teammates and that makes me sad about it. I like grass, but that wasn’t grass we played on.”

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers called the surface ‘borderline unplayable’ while Mike Tomlin acknowledged the field was unusually ‘poor’ and ‘dry’ that week. The survey hits on that.

“Players cite inadequate maintenance and excessive wear from hosting local college and high school games,” the survey said. “Players across the league note the poor condition of the field and emphasize the need for investment to bring it up to standard.”

In addition to those, the Steelers’ strength and conditioning staff ranked last in the league and their training room was criticized for a lack of modalities that other facilities in the NFL have at this stage.
