With Christmas Day being on a Friday in 2026, the NFL plans for a full-slate of NFL games.
According to Eric Fisher of Front Office Sports, the NFL will schedule three games that day with two of them being streamed on Netflix and the third being televised on FOX.
Earlier this week, the NFL owners voted to exempt Friday games from the limitations on two “short-week” games per team per year. This means that one or more of the six teams that will play on Christmas can otherwise have at least two Sunday-to-Thursday games.
The NFL has full embraced Christmas Day as a day where they will play games. For the second straight year, the league will have three games on Christmas.
