Eight time Pro Bowl defensive Cameron Jordan, who’s a Saints legend, announced Tuesday that he’s returning to New Orleans for “one final season” in a video he posted on Social media.
The announcement comes on the same day it was reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport that Jordan was finalizing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Jordan, who will turn 37 next month, has spent all 15 of his NFL seasons with the Saints. In the process, he’s collected eight Pro Bowl accolades and piled up 132 sacks, the most in franchise history.
Jordan was selected in the first round by the Saints in the 2011 draft is coming off a season where he started all 17 games. He tallied a team-leading 10.5 sacks which was the most in a season since he stacked 12.5 sacks in 2021.
Jordan became a free agent in March after his most recent contract with the Saints automatically voided. Notably, New Orleans acquired former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Tyree Wilson in a trade during this year’s draft. In that deal, the Saints also picked up a seventh-round pick, which they used on Iowa cornerback TJ Hall, and delivered the Raiders a 2026 fifth-round pick in exchange.
In 2013, Jordan made his first Pro Bowl. From 2017-22, the former Cal standout received that honor every season. He was a first-team All-Pro in 2017 and a second-team All-Pro in 2018 and 2019. Jordan set a single-season career high with 15.5 sacks in 2019.
The 2026 season will be Jordan’s 16th in the league. It’ll be another chance for him to help steward the Saints into their next chapter of success, as they hope to build on an encouraging end to last season.
