Brock Rechsteiner’s NFL career is off to a not-so stellar start.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday the undrafted free agent who signed with the New Orleans Saints this offseason was suspended for the first six games of the 2026 season. Rechsteiner is eligible to play in the preseason but will go on the suspended list when rosters are reduced to 53.
Rechsteiner is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.
Rechsteiner played wide receiver at Jacksonville State and went undrafted in the 2026 draft. He was invited to Saints rookie minicamp in May and showed enough to sign a deal with the NFC South team.
In addition to his father, Rechsteiner’s uncle Rick Steiner is a WWE Hall of Famer. His cousin Bronson Rechsteiner signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent but now wrestles in the WWE as Bron Breakker.
Back in May, Rechsteiner said he will follow in his father’s footsteps and plans on pursuing wrestling after football.
But he is now facing a six-game suspension before even playing a single contest at the NFL level. The Saints start the 2026 campaign on Sept. 13 against the Detroit Lions.
Rechsteiner finished with 36 catches for 383 yards and five touchdowns in his final collegiate season at Jacksonville State.
