DeMarcus Lawrence is entering his 13th NFL season and it is going to be his last.
In a sit down interview with Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, Lawrence revealed that that this will be his last year. Lawrence cited his six children and wife playing a large role in that decision.
“This will be my last year,” Lawrence said. “Through the grace of God, I’m able to play another year and soak it all up one more good time before I hang it up.”
Lawrence, a five-time Pro Bowler, played his first 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys before signing a three-year, $32.5 million contract with Seattle last offseason.
Over 16 starts, the former Boise State star amassed six sacks, 53 tackles, 20 quarterback hits and two fumble recovery touchdowns for the Super Bowl LX champions.
Lawrence has enjoyed a fantastic career. He’s totaled 67.5 sacks over time, including a career-high 14.5 in 2017. Lawrence also has 503 tackles (309 solo) and 146 quarterback hits.
