Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will miss the next week due to an ankle injury he suffered in Thursday night’s preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Saturday.
Love was more sore Friday than he was Thursday, said LaFleur, who added that the running back was “more sore than we were anticipating.”
The Cardinals will reevaluate Love’s ankle next week before deciding on a plan for the rest of the preseason.
Love played 23 snaps Thursday night, rushing 11 times for 58 yards and catching three passes for 14 yards.
The Cardinals remaining preseason games are next Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers on August 28th.
They will open the regular season on Sept. 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
