This is getting crazy.
On top of adding Pat McAfee to Monday Night Countdown, ESPN is now planning to add a McAfee alt-cast to their Monday Night Football coverage, pending an approval by the NFL.
This news was reported by The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand.
The plan would be for the McAfee-led alternate broadcast to handle the games on the Monday’s when the Manning brothers don’t. Under their current deal, Eli and Peyton do 10 ManningCast’s per year.
Like the ManningCast, the McAfee-fest would be televised by ESPN2. The difference? Unlike the ManningCast which has Peyton and Eli covering games from their homes, McAfee would presumably be in the stadium, since McAfee will be on Monday Night Countdown.
At some point, ESPN might have to step back from all this Pat McAfee stuff but for now, the Worldwide Leader in Sports is marching forward with non-stop McAfee coverage.
