One of the craziest stories in the NFL in recent memory involves an individual who allegedly posed as San Francisco 49ers wide receiver and scammed dozens of woman out of more than $1 million.
Daejon Love stole the headlines around the NFL with his bizarre story of impersonating an NFL player. He went to extraordinary lengths to pull off what has become one of the most notable scams connected to the sports world in recent memory.
Now, another chapter was added to the crazy story. After Love’s mug shot went viral, footage of his arrest has resurfaced and re-sparked interest in the wild story. Love is seen wearing 49ers gear during the video.

Love allegedly went above and beyond simply telling women that he played in the NFL. He reportedly acquired authentic 49ers equipment, including a helmet, and allegedly obtained access to luxury vehicles to help make his story more convincing.
Those details show just how elaborate the alleged scheme became. He wasn’t relying solely on a convincing story or social media presence. Instead, he allegedly created an entire lifestyle around the identity he had fabricated.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office in the District of Oregon and court documents, the FBI arrested Daejon Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, on Aug. 24 in Boise, Idaho, and charged the duo with conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud.
