Just 48 hours away from their season-opener, the Chicago Bears sign one of their key offensive players to a contract extension.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bears and running back D’Andre swift reached an agreement on a three-year, $33.75 million contract extension that includes $27.5 million guaranteed.
Swift, 27, signed a three-year deal with the Chicago Bears back in March of 2024 after spending one season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a second-round pick by the Detroit Lions out Georgia in 2020.
He’s coming off a career year where he rushed for 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns. He also tallied 34 receptions for 299 yards. In Ben Johnson’s first year as head coach in Chicago, Swift established himself as one of the key contributors in Johnson’s offense and the Bears are rewarding him as such.
The Bears will open their 2026 season in Carolina against the Panthers on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.
