The San Francisco 49ers are bringing in some reinforcements on their defensive line. Veteran pass rusher Matt Judon is singing with the San Francisco 49ers according to an interview he did with All32’s Arabia Tillery.
Tillery reported Judon had a workout with the 49ers on Saturday and will officially sign with the club Monday.
Judon in his interview explained how injuries played a role in him joining the 49ers.
“With all of the injuries piling up over there I think I can just come in and help until some of those guys get back,” Judon said. “I know the D-line coach. I know him well. He’s a great D-line coach.”
The 49ers entered Week 3 with multiple injuries on their defensive line including ends Romello Height and Nick Bosa, along with defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. Height may be back in Week 4, but the others are expected to miss multiple weeks.
In 10 seasons Judon has played in 145 games with 100 starts. He has 72 sacks and 95 tackles for loss in his career. He could quickly become an important piece of a banged up 49ers defensive line if they’re going to stay afloat until they get healthy.
