Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. won’t get his chance at revenge against his former team on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts and it’s unclear how long he will be out.

Pittsburgh head coach Mike McCarthy said today that Pittman will miss time after re-injuring his foot, and it’s too soon to say whether he will have to go on injured reserve.

“It’s the same foot, so it’s going to be a multiple-week injury,” McCarthy said. “We’re still going through the evaluation of his roster position.”

The Steelers acquired Pittman in a trade from Indy in March and signed him to a three-year, $59 million extension but so far that investment has not paid off. Pittman has just seven catches for 89 yards this season.

Pittman was a second-round pick by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2020 draft.
