Ryan Day Says Ohio State QB Julian Sayin Will Be Out “Several Weeks”

Ohio State will be without their starting quarterback, Julian Sayin, for an extended period of time.

Following the Buckeyes’ 19-15 win over the Indiana Hoosier’s, Ryan Day told reporters Sayin will “probably be out several weeks” with the injury he suffered against Indiana.

Sayin left Saturday’s Top-5 matchup in Bloomington in the fourth quarter and headed to the locker room favoring his arm. He later returned to the sidelines wearing a sling and did not return as Ohio State held on for the victory.

Sayin completed 15 of 29 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns, to two interceptions, as Ohio State improved to 6-1 on the year. After Fahey entered the game, he went 0-for-2 passing as the Buckeyes leaned into the running game to finish out the matchup against Indiana.

Ohio State travels to Southern Carolina to face the USC Trojans following their bye next week before hosting Oregon and Northwestern. A trip to Nebraska and the annual rivalry game with Michigan at home end the slate for the Buckeyes.
