The 2020 NFL Draft class will go down as one of the best quarterback classes of all time. It also might go down as one of the richest, as well.
On Friday, Tua Tagovailoa signed a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with the Miami Dolphins. Later that night, Jordan Love outdid him, agreeing to a four-year, $220 million deal with the Packers, tying him with Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence as the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.
Joe Burrow, who was the No. 1 pick in the 2020 Draft, previously signed a five-year, $275 million extension with the Bengals to go along with Justin Herbert (five years, $262.5 million) and Jalen Hurts (five-year, $255 million), the entire 2020 QB class has collectively accumulated over $1 billion in contracts.
Joe Burrow and Jalen Hurts have had the most post season succession, reaching the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence each have one playoff victory, while Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa are still searching for their postseason success.
Quarterback contracts continue to grow at an astronomical pace so while the money that Love and Tua recently got seem excessive, just wait and see the next person that’s line for a pay day.
Looking at you, Dak Prescott.
