This is probably the worst way to suffer an injury.
Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown suffered a leg injury late in the team’s Week 17 game against the Denver Broncos after he was trying to slide on the turf instead of scoring a touchdown to allow the Bengals to burn more clock with the game tied at 17.
The injury forced the Bengals to use their final timeout and Brown needed the help of trainers to leave the field. Joe Burrow scored a touchdown on the next play to give the Bengals the lead.
Before exiting the game, Brown had carried the ball 20 times for 67 yards and caught four passes. Entering the game, he had rushed for 923 yards and seven touchdowns, with another 50 catches, 336 yards and four touchdowns as the breakout lead back.
