
Adam Vinatieri is set to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame next month but that won’t be the only time his career will be celebrated.
On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts announced that they will be inducting Vinatieri into the franchise’s Ring of Honor. The ceremony will take place on October 18 during their Week 6 home game against the Titans.Ā
Vinatieri signed with the Colts as a free agent in 2006 and helped them to a Super Bowl win during his first season in Indy. He hit 14-of-15 field goal attempts during the playoff run to set the record for the most fiend goals made in a single post season. He went on to spend 14 seasons with the Colts before retiring after the 2018 season.Ā
Prior to signing with the Colts, Vinatieri spent the first nine seasons (1996-2005) with the New England Patriots, winning three Super Bowls. In two of those Super Bowls, Vinatieri kicked the game-winning field goal. Vinatieri is the NFLās career leader in points scored and field goals made in both the regular season and playoffs.
