Andre Johnson no longer plays professional football, but he’s continuing the annual tradition he started nine years ago back when he played in the NFL.
On Wednesday, the long-time Texans WR went through with the 2016 edition of his all-expenses paid shopping spree for underprivileged and at-risk children in the Houston area.
Through his foundation, the Andre Johnson Charitable Foundation, Johnson takes a group of kids selected by Child Protective Services on a Toys “R” Us shopping spree, giving them them had 80 seconds to fill up their carts with as many toys as they could. And oh, could they fill those carts.
This year’s total? $19,144.58.
Andre Johnson does it again…$19,144.58 spent on toys for kids in Houston this morning. Love this. pic.twitter.com/U6qx9ibMZI

Now there’s one person from the Texans organization who knows how to properly spend their money.
Took a little while to print the receipts, but all worth it for Andre Johnson and his toy giveaway this morning pic.twitter.com/tzefTCWt4J
