Auburn Gymnast Shatters Both Legs At Once In One Of The Most Gruesome Injuries You’ll Ever See

Auburn is not having a good week.

All while losing in the Final Four to Virginia courtesy of a missed call by officials in the final seconds, their gymnastics team saw perhaps one of the worst sports injuries ever when Samantha Cerio fractured not one, but both of her legs at once.

On the first pass of her Baton Rouge Regional routine, the star senior gymnast fell short on her handspring double front with a blind landing and had four of her leg bones snap at once.

“It was pretty tough to watch,” Auburn coach Jeff Graba said after the meet, according to Nola.com. “She’s a trouper. The last thing she said was, ‘Go help the girls.’ The girls rallied around her. They’re doing this for her right now.”

Paramedics placed air casts around both of Cerio’s legs and was stretchered out of the arena and rushed to a local hospital.
