Blake Bortles Compares The Criticism He Receives To What Critics Say About LeBron James

The Jacksonville Jaguars were the biggest surprise of the 2017 season and while they continue to prove their doubters wrong up to this point, their quarterback, Blake Bortles continues to receive his share of criticism.

On Wednesday, Bortles was asked how he deals with the negative noise out there and he referenced the criticism LeBron James deals with to this day:

“It’ll probably never stop, Bortles said. “There’s people who think LeBron James sucks. So if that happens, I’m sure there will always be people who always think I suck.”

Now, some people takeaway that Bortles is comparing himself to LeBron James and I’m here to tell you, you’re wrong. Bortles is simply pointing out that people are always going to find a way to hate any player regardless if that player is LeBron James or Blake Bortles.

Over the course of the season, Bortles has had his fair share of doubters including Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who called the Jags QB, “trash.” Titans defensive tackle Jurrell Casey called Bortles and choke artist.

But despite that, Bortles is still play and has a chance to once again silence his doubters on Sunday, when the Jags travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.
