Patrick Mahomes is now the highest paid player in sports history.
The Kansas City Chiefs and the third-year QB agreed on a contract extension that will have Mahomes under center in Arrowhead through 2031, a 10-year deal atop the remaining 2 years currently on his contract.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the deal is worth a whopping $450,000,000, the richest contract in the history of sports.

The contract does not contain language that ties its value to a percentage of the salary cap.
