Tannehill was brought over in a trade with the Dolphins prior to last season, and seemed to be nothing more than a move to secure a solid backup behind Marcus Mariota.
The Dolphins sent Tannehill and a sixth-round selection in to the Titans in exchange for a fourth-round selection in this upcoming draft and a seventh-round selection in the 2019 draft. Tannehill signed a one-year deal with the Titans worth $7 million with up to $12 million in incentives.
That changed when Mariota was benched for Tannehill during Week 6 and led Tennessee to a 7-3 record in their remaining 10 games and even, of course with much help from his defense and RB Derrick Henry, led his team to a AFC Championship berth.
