Vikings Fire Offensive Coordinator John DeFilippo After Almost Being Shut Out On MNF

The Minnesota Vikings put up one of the most horrid offensive primetime performances in recent memory after in the final minutes just managing to not get shut out against the Seahawks with their 84 million dollar man under center on Monday night.

Beyond Kirk Cousins and perhaps the offensive line, the blame finds offensive coordinator John DeFilippo, who no longer has that title after being let go by the Vikings Tuesday morning.

The Vikings’ offense has been so poor, the Vikings defense has held Drew Brees to 120 yards passing and Russell Wilson to 72 yards passing this season. They somehow managed to lose both games not being able to score enough points.

Ironically, DeFilippo was reported to be the lead man for a number of NFL head coaching positions including that of the Green Bay Packers. It will be interesting to see if this affects his value in the market.
