DENVER, CO – In what has been a relatively quite stretch of offseason for the NFL, they’re back in the news again, this time with a player reportedly being shot. That player – Super Champion corner for the Denver Broncos, Aquib Talib.
According to the Dallas Morning News’ crime blog, Talib was shot in the leg outside a Dallas, Texas nightclub along with another person at the scene at 2:45 a.m. Sunday outside Dallas’ V Live Nightclub.
The team confirmed that Talib was in fact hit and was being treated for the gunshot wound. The Broncos also noted the injury is not life threatening.
Via Sporting News –
Talib was treated at Medical City Hospital. A spokeswoman at the hospital says that Talib was discharged Sunday.
The Dallas area is home for Talib.
This is not Talib’s first incident involving a shooting. In 2011, while then a member of the Buccaneers, Talib allegedly fired a gun at his sister’s boyfriend. Though the man was not injured, Talib was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. That charge was later dropped.
Last year he was involved in another altercation, along with his brother, at a Dallas nightclub. An employee at that club, LUXX, told police that someone fired a shot in the air in an attempt to break up a fight. Talib was questioned by police and his car was towed to be examined for evidence. He was never charged in that incident.
