Broncos CB Chris Harris Jr. Responds To John Elway’s “Soft” Comments

The Denver Broncos are falling apart right in-front of our very eyes.

The team that is two years removed from winning a Super Bowl has yet to find a quarterback after Peyton Manning joined the organization in 2012 and their defense has taken a step back.

The Broncos find themselves at 3-7, losers of six straight games and sitting in last place in the AFC West.

Last week, Broncos president John Elway spoke to reporters at an event at Sports Authority Field and had this to say about the team’s struggles:

“I think at this point we’re still trying to figure out how we can get through it, so, there’s no question at the end of the year we’ll evaluate it and we’ll look back and see what happened. But I will tell you, I think we got a little bit soft. To be dead honest with you, we got a little bit soft. We went 4-0 in the preseason, we started out 3-1, then we get a bye week, and if you exhale in this league, you’re in trouble. To be dead honest with you, I think we exhaled, and it’s hard to recover from that. So, it’s a lesson that hopefully we all learned and prevent it from happening again.”

Elway basically pointed the finger at everyone but himself. Failing to point out how his search for a successor to Peyton Manning, who retired after Super Bowl 50 is still going on despite the fact that the team drafted QB Paxton Lynch last season.

After suffering their sixth straight loss in a 20-17 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Broncos star cornerback Chris Harris Jr. responded to Elway’s comments and much like Elway did, Harris didn’t hold back:

Regardless what your opinion is about Elway, it’s hard not to put at least some of the blame of the Broncos struggles on him.

The Broncos currently sit at 3-7 and would have the 4th pick in the 2018 Draft.
