Canadian Football Player Celebrates Touchdown By Chugging A Beer On The Field

In the NFL, this would probably have resulted in a 15-yard penalty, a huge fine and most likely a suspension.

But in the Canadian Football League, this is who they celebrate touchdowns.

Late in the third quarter against Toronto Argonauts, Jon Gott, an offensive lineman for the Ottawa Redblacks helped Redblacks running back Mossis Madu Jr. score a one-yard touchdown to make it a 23-9 lead for Ottawa at the time.

But while his teammates were congratulating each other in the end zone, Gott took off towards one of the beer gardens at TD Place Stadium, grabbed a beer from a a fan and chugged like he was Stone Cold Steve Austin:

The 10-year CFL veteran explained his celebration to TSN Sports:

“I’ve been talking about that for probably five years now, I finally pulled the trigger. Saw that beer, chugged it and crushed it over my head and that was about it.”

“I saw my girlfriend down in the log cabin and I just had to do it, Last regular season game so I just had to do it.”
