Chris Jones is threatening to sit out the 2020 NFL season, and it has nothing to do with the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle has yet to sign his franchise tag for 2020 season as he seeks a long-term deal. On Tuesday, Jones took to Twitter and took exception with a video stating that Chiefs don’t view him as a $20 million per year type player.

Jones’ responded to the video by threatening to pull a Le’Veon Bell and sit out:

Under the 1-year franchise tag, Jones is set to earn a little over $16 million in 2020, but it’s clear that Jones wants to secure a long-term deal.

The 25-year-old Jones has emerged as one of the best pass rushers in the league in recent years, with 9.0 sacks in 2019 and 15.5 sacks in 2018.
