Civil Rights Advocates Claim Texans Passed On RGIII & Kaepernick Because They’re Black

The topic of race had escalated in recent months especially due to the currently climate where we saw divide and debate surrounding Beyonce’s Super Bowl 50 halftime performance as well as political debates.

Wednesday, the Texans made a move to sign former Broncos QB Brock Osweiler to a 4-year $72 million dollar contrast with the majority of that money guaranteed. Osweiler of course received heavy criticism by Broncos fans everywhere, as well the Texans for shelling out that amount of money for a relatively unproven quarterback. Apparently the Texans are coming under more heat now, but not for what you’d think.

The Texans did have some options on the table, choosing to pass on Robert Griffin III, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Colin Kaepernick, as well as others for whatever reason. Texas civil rights advocates are claiming that reason was due to race. One of those in particular posting this post to his Facebook account, calling out the team for passing on RGIII and Kapernick in particular:

Brothers & Sisters – It’s crystal clear that the owners of the Houston Texans Football Team REFUSE to recruit a Black quarterback, even if they can have MORE TALENT for LESS MONEY… What a shame.
