Rutgers Football Honor Two Wheelchair-Bound Fans

Rutgers ended their Spring Football Game in the classiest way possible: 11-year old Danny Garofalo and 16-year-old Matt DeRiggi are suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (disorder that breaks down the muscles and eventually weakens the heart and lungs).

The two boys have been long-time Rutgers football fans and even attend practice often. At the conclusion of Saturday’s Spring Football Game, The Scarlet Knights ran a trick play where quarterback Gary Nova hands the ball of to DeRiggi, who got the ball to Garofalo on the reverse, with the help of blockers, Garofalo took the ball to the house for touchdown.

A special moment that was worth the celebration. Salute to Rutgers for the classy gesture!
