David Irving was suspended indefinitely by the NFL on Mar. 1 for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. After his antics on social media Thursday night, it appears as if his career has gone up in smoke.
The Cowboys defensive lineman took to Instagram and live streamed himself smoking a blunt while announcing that he’s quitting football.

“Basically guys, I quit,” Irving said. “It’s a lot of reasons why I’ve come to this decision.
The expletive-laced rant also included mentions about how athletes in other sports never get suspended for marijuana as opposed to football players who always do.
Irving also mentioned that he’s happy to be addicted to weed rather than hard drugs and other pills.
The Dallas Cowboys have inferred they have zero intention of signing the young defensive tackle this offseason. After this video, it’s hard to picture any team wanting to sign him.
