Cowboys DE David Irving Injures Nipple After Losing His Nipple Ring During Practice

Injuries are a common thing in the NFL, but Dallas Cowboys defensive end David Irving sustained a very unusual injury at practice on Wednesday.

Jane Slater of NFL Network described the strange injury:

This isn’t something the third year defensive end had in mind when he started training camp three days ago.

Irving was an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State but has developed into a key role player on the Cowboys defense. He appeared in 12 games in 2015 and 15 games last year, starting two and tallying four sacks.

Unfortunately, Irving will serve a four-game suspension to start the 2017 season after failing a test for performance-enhancing drugs.

The 23-year-old still looks to make an impact as the year progresses, but he will probably need to do a better job avoiding these type of freak injuries.
