For the second straight year, the Dallas Cowboys are facing a fine from the NFL for having too many players suspended at once.
Per the league remittance policy, any team with more than three suspended players on their roster at a single time is subject to a fine.
Damontre Moore’s suspension last week brought that total to three – with the season having not even started yet.
The Cowboys were fined $500,000 last season for the same offense when Rolando McClain, Randy Gregory and Demarcus Lawrence all found themselves suspended.
Per Pro Football Talk, based on the 2016 policy, the league would dock the Cowboys 25 percent of the base salaries the suspended players will lose, or roughly $91,000.
Though that figure’s significantly less than half a million bucks, three other Cowboys players (Ezekiel Elliott, Nolan Carroll and Damien Wilson) are awaiting possible suspensions, which could bring the fine up to the same $500,000.
