Denver Man: “Getting Divorced, Leaving Her With Nothing, Selling Our House For SB Tickets”

ERIE, CO – Brian Lusk’s phone has been ringing off the hook the past few days with people interested in his house.

According to Colorado’s 9NEWS, all of those phone calls come from an ad posted in newspapers in Denver, Broomfield and Longmont. The ad claims a 2100 square feet, three bedroom, two bathroom home in Erie is for sale by owner, hilariously reading:

“Getting divorced: leaving her with nothing,” the ad reads. “Will sell home for 2 tickets to the Super Bowl with airfare and lodging.”

Unfortunately for the story, Lusk later said he’s not actually looking for a divorce, nor selling his house that was purchased by the family just 6 months earlier. And how’s this for a plot twist, it was a grand prank put on by one of his friends!

“I have a buddy who’s a good Pittsburgh Steelers fan – and we had some bets going for the Steelers game and of course the Broncos won so I rode him pretty hard for two or three days and gave him a lot of heck,”  Lusk said.

“The house is worth a little more than just tickets,” he said. Lusk has received a number of phone calls asking if the ad was serious. He also has had a lot of interest. One man called saying the house would be perfect for his daughter and her new husband. He offered Lusk two tickets on the 45 yard line twenty rows back along with first class airfare and a suite at a hotel, to which he of course turned down.

Lusk shared his story with 9NEWS in hopes that people will stop calling him. He also wanted a bit of advice.

“I’d like to look to Bronco nation for some ideas on how to get him back,” he said.

He’s the video from 9NEWS reporting on the whirlwind of a story, and a funny one at that:
