Before the start of Training Camp, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones imposed his own Anthem Policy on his players, stating that players will be required to stand on the sidelines for the national anthem.
The news came days after the NFL stated that it would put a hold on a new policy on the polarizing issue amid ongoing negotiations with the NFL Players Association:
“As far as the Dallas Cowboys, you know where I stand, the team knows where I stand. Our policy is you stand during the anthem, toe on the line.”
The newly imposed rule by Jones had many critics but one huge fan, the President of the United States:
Way to go Jerry. This is what the league should do! https://t.co/yEP1jK57xi

President Trump has been relentlessly criticizing the league for not handling the Anthem situation “properly.”
