‘ESPN8: The Ocho’ Returns Sunday And Will Save Us From A Deep, Dark Depression Of No Sports

At this point, sports fans would probably relish at the opportunity to watch competitive stone skipping…and that’s exactly what they’re about to get.

ESPN has announced that they will be moving up the network covering weird and whacky sporting events up to March instead of the regularly scheduled August date to help fill the sporting void in our lives in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Here is what ESPN wrote in a news release: “No, it’s not the eighth of August, or the eighth of anything or even August at all. That is the magic ESPN8: The Ocho. There is always a place for a full 24-hours of seldom seen sports so Sunday, March 22 on ESPN2 will be just that, a full day of exciting content from Ocho stunts past.”

Some of the “events” to be televised include the following:

inlineg
  • 2019 Spikeball College Championship
  • World Axe Throwing League
  • The Stone Skipping Championship
  • 2019 Jelle’s Marble Runs: Participants and spectators are marbles in these races.
  • 2007 World Sport Stacking Championships: Competitors are timed as they stack specially designed cups in predetermined sequences.
