Alex Mack is a tough dude.

With the Super Bowl just hours away, the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots are getting ready to square off in what should be an exciting Super Bowl.

Both teams have earned their way here but players picked up their share of injuries through the journey to Houston.

Despite two weeks off for rest and preparation, the Atlanta Falcons will be going into Super Bowl LI banged up.

But no injury is going to prevent anyone from playing. Not even a fractured fibula.

Four-time Pro Bowl center, Alex Mack, who’s been dealing with a fracture in his left leg, will start against the Patriots in Houston.

Despite playing with the fracture, teammates have said throughout the week that Mack looks ready to go:

It’s unclear how much Mack will play, given the severity of the injury and the potential risk of further damaging his leg, but Mack has insisted all along that he wants to help bring the first ever championship to Atlanta.

Hopefully, Mack is able to play the entire game without further injuring himself.

If he does, he’ll join the likes of Jack Youngblood, Terrell Owens and Charles Woodson to play in a Super Bowl with a fractured fibula.
