Former Texas Longhorn Star & NFL RB Cedric Benson Passes Away At Age 36

Cedric Benson, former star at the University of Texas and NFL running back, has passed away.

Benson died via a motorcycle accident in Austin Texas Saturday night.

He was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft after a storied career as a Longhorn, finishing one of the best careers in the program’s history, with four 1,000-yard seasons and the most rushing attempts in school history and only second behind Ricky Williams in total yards and TDs.

Drafted by the Bears, Benson played for the Bengals as well as the Packers before retiring in 2012, accumulating 6,017 yards and 32 TDs over the course of 8 seasons.
