Hockey Player Tries To Cut Open Opponent’s Neck With His Skate

Playing a contact sport with blades on your feet doesn’t seem like the brightest idea to begin with, but those blades tend to stay near the ice out of danger – and when they do fly up, it’s usually accidentally. Not this time.

Ziga Jeglic of the Slovenia men’s national hockey team went at a Swiss opponent during a game by kicking him with the blade of his skate in his neck.

Surprisingly, no penalty was called for what seems like attempted murder during the game, and furthermore, Jeglic was somehow only given a 2-game suspension by the IIHF.
