Hurricanes Unveil Environmentally-Friendly Uniforms & Cleats Made From Ocean Trash

The Miami Hurricanes will try not to play like trash this season but they’ll be kicking off 2018 in trash…literally.

The Canes and Adidas partnered up with Parley for the Oceans to create one of a kind uniforms and cleats made out of plastic waste from the ocean.

The unis are made of over 70 percent ECONYL yarn, a material recycled from fishing nets and other nylon waste found in the Atlantic Ocean.

Miami will wear the uniforms September 2nd when they help kick off the new college football season against LSU and will also action off them with proceeds going towards educational research in the university’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.
