Jerry Jones Says Cowboys Lost To The Rams Because Of The Slippery Field At LA Coliseum

The Cowboys were eliminated from the playoffs Saturday after being defeated by the Rams at the LA Coliseum. The ‘LA Coliseum’ part is a reason why Dallas lost, according to Jerry Jones at least.

“We frankly had never gotten traction. And I mean that literally. That was a slippery field,” Jerry told 103.5 The Fan in Dallas when talking about the game. “If I had to do it over again, we would be really scrutinizing our footwear. Our cleats. We had trouble digging in, so to speak.”

Every NFL team has various types of cleats and cleat accessories which include various length studs which are used based on how slick the playing surface is. Equipment staffs will typically adjust throughout the game if there is any obvious issue with players slipping and sliding on the turf, an issue that did not seem apparent during Cowboys-Rams for either side.

The more likely reason the Cowboys lost can be attributed to the fact they only scored 22 points while the Rams scored 30.
