Jets Rookie With Salary Of $4k Fined $20k For Hit Is Now $15k In Debt Since Becoming NFL Player

Jets rookie Frankie Luvu entered the NFL this year with hopes and dreams of becoming rich and famous as a professional football player. That dream now leaves Luvu in $15,000 worth of debt.

The un-drafted rookie linebacker was fined $20,054 for this ‘roughing the passer’ penalty during New York’s preseason game against the Redskins.

The NFL slapped Luvu with a $20,054 fine, the only problem? His salary is only $1,075 a game.

If Luvu makes the Jets final 52-man roster, the fine will come out of his paycheck, taking all the money he’ll make from his first NFL game.

If he is cut and remains out of the NFL for the rest of his life, the fine will be negated.

Luckily for Luvu’s sake, has been showing out this preseason, and will likely make the team and in the process make the money he owes back, and then some.
