The Lions Just Got A Penalty For Tackling Ezekiel Elliott

Some say the officiating in the NFL has become “soft”. This call may epitomize that opinion.

During he third quarter of the Lions vs Cowboys MNF game in Dallas, a Lions’ defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was flagged 15 yards for tackling running back Ezekiel Elliott.

Per the official, the player “unnecessarily” threw Elliott to the ground, yet Robinson landed first and when Elliott hit the ground, it was via his own foot.

According to NFL rules, a tackler cannot bodyslam a suplex a ball carrier to the ground, which this clearly was not an example of.
