Marine Who Lost Leg In Afghanistan Runs Boston Marathon Holding American Flag

Marathons produce some inspiring stories and the Boston Marathon is no different.

Marine Staff SGt. Jose Luis Sanchez lost part of his left leg in Afghanistan six years ago due to a roadside bomb.

But that didn’t stop Sanchez from fulfilling his dream by completing Monday’s Boston Marathon, just as he did last year, carrying the American Flag.

Sanchez, who was wearing a “Semper Fi” t-shirt while completing the marathon told reporters that he completed the race as a charity member for the Semper Fi Fund, which supports wounded veterans.

Sanchez completed the race in 5-and-a-half hours and photos of him completing the race went viral across the Internet:
