Giants Request Permission To Interview Former Cowboys Coach Jason Garrett

Jerry Jones joined an interview with “Shan & RJ” on 105.3 The Fan in early December and was asked about Jason Garrett’s future with the Cowboys, or lack there of, and said, “In my opinion, Jason Garrett will be coaching in the NFL next year.”

The Giants may make that hold true.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the team has requested permission to interview the former Dallas coach who was told his contract wouldn’t be renewed come Jan. 14.

The Giants have replaced Pat Shurmur with former Patriots WR coach Joe Judge.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Giants are looking to hire Garrett as an offensive coordinator to serve on Judge’s staff.

Garrett is coming off an 8-8 season where he failed to make the playoffs with one of the most talented offensive rosters in the NFL.
