The New York Giants have a new backup in town, and it’s Geno Smith.

After meetings between the two sides were reported to have gone well over the weekend, the former New York Jets interception thrower has been signed by the team, reuniting him with another former Jet, WR Brandon Marshall.

If Smith were to be used, surely Odell Beckham, Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepherd’s catching ability will come in handy trying to snatch balls away from throws heading right towards defenders.

In 33 career games, Smith has completed 501 of 866 attempts, throwing for 5962 years, with 28 TDs and 36 INTs.

Smith never was able to earn back his starting job after he was infamously punched in the face by teammate IK Enemkpali, forcing him to miss a considerable amount of time.
