As of Saturday morning, the Oakland Raiders will file relocation papers with the NFL to move from Oakland to Las Vegas, sources told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

After numerous steps beginning last year to move his franchise to Sin city, owner Mark Davis will now only need approval from at least 24 of the league’s owners in a vote this spring.

Rapport added much like the situation in San Diego that led to the Chargers moving to LA just days ago, the city of Oakland has failed to come up with viable stadium proposals and there’s been no progress made in its attempts to retain the Raiders.

Davis has been admit about moving the team to Vegas despite it’s recent success in Oakland after years of losing, claiming he sees his franchise’s future in the city a state over. He’s pledged $500 million toward a $1.9-billion stadium project, which would also require $750 million from taxpayers.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, one of the league’s most well-respected voices, said recently he believes the NFL is on board with the Raiders’ move.

If the vote goes through, Oakland fans would at least have their team for a few more years until a stadium in completed.
